Tsena Koev

The Story So Far

Tsena Koev was founded in 2019 by Vivaldi Metal Project’s lead vocalist Tsena Stefanova and the project's arranger Zhivko Koev.

Their first single “Something Inside” was released with an official music video in 2021, followed by an acoustic cover of Nightwish’s “Our Decades In The Sun”, featuring Italian virtuoso Mistheria (Bruce Dickinson, Tower of Babel) on piano in January 2022.

In February 2022 Tsena Koev premiered the official lyric video of their second single “The Traveller”, featuring guest vocals by Snowy Shaw (Therion, Mercyful Fate) and Rob Lundgren (Mentalist) and guitars by Tsvetomir Voynov (Violentory) and Nikolay Ganchev (Insane).

“Emotions In A Jar”, Tsena Koev’s first album, was released on August 26, 2022 - a date selected in honor of Tsena’s father, Stefan Bunardjiev, who would have celebrated his 75th birthday on this day if he hadn’t lost the fight with cancer two years earlier.

The album features two versions of “Something Inside” - the original and a karaoke one, plus four previously unreleased songs. Two of them - “Road” and “Free Them” - are presented in entirely acoustic arrangements, featuring flute, oboe, double bass, piano and acoustic guitar.

The other two - “Without” and “My Other Face” are performed by a more traditional symphonic metal line-up of drums, guitars, bass and keyboards, displaying also a strong progressive metal influence.

In September 2022 the band presented their debut album in a series of acoustic shows in Bulgaria.

The line up featured Mistheria on keyboards, Gergana Edreva on celo, Nevena Ivanova on percussion and Tsena on acoustic guitars and vocals and performed a mixed set of Tsena Koev’s songs and Vivaldi Metal Project’s best known compositions.

The current line up of the band consists of:

- Tsena Stevanova - vocals, acoustic guitar

- Mistheria - keyboards, piano

- Samppa Hirvonen - bass

- Leo Porcheddu - guitars

- Alexander Slavchev - guitars/bass

- Nick Nikolaev - drums
